In North America, employers continue to report steady growth in hiring intentions, particularly in sectors including manufacturing, retail and wholesale. In the aftermath of the recession, employers have grown accustomed to doing more with less. An oversupply of candidates coupled with evolving needs for increased employability and hard skills have led to reluctance to accept anything but the perfect hire. “While caution remains, demand is increasing so there is a need to build a workforce to meet that demand,” said Jonas Prising, ManpowerGroup President.
